My name is Jill, and I am the proud mother-in-law of Zachary Knopick -- a loving husband, a devoted father, and one of the hardest working men I know. Today, I am humbly asking for your help as our family navigates one of the most challenging chapters of our lives.
On September 30th, Zack underwent a life-saving liver transplant - one we had prayed for but never imagined would happen so suddenly! Just one day earlier, on September 29th, the phone rang. It was a call that has changed everything. The Transplant Team told Zack it was time... he need to be at the hospital by 7 AM the next morning. In that moment, our hearts were filled with fear, gratitude and overwhelming hope all at once.
Zachary is only 43 years old, yet he has faced more in the past few months than most people do in a lifetime. Before his health took a turn, he has worked fulltime as a heating and air-conditioning technician, providing for his family with quiet strength and pride. He is the one to always fix things - for his family and for everyone else. But now, he is the one who needs fixing and now healing.
Zack is the sole provider for his wife, Susan, and their beautiful daughter Paige who is 6 years old and in the first grade. Paige is full of life. She loves cheerleading, swimming, playing dress up and spending time at our house. She does not fully understand what is happening to her Daddy but she does know he is sick and that the doctors are helping him to get his tummy well.
Susan, Zack's wife works as an assistant teacher at Pasadena Community Church School. Susan spends her days caring for other peoples children while worrying about her own. The reality is that with Zack unable to work for the unforeseeable future, the bills, medical costs and everyday living expenses are piling up fast and the weight is heavy.
Even though they are struggling financially, Zack's courage and faith never has wavered. He chose life. He chose his family. He chose to fight. And by the grace of God, the transplant was successful.
He has now been moved from the ICU to rehabilitation, where he will remain as he rebuilds his strength. Everyday brings small victories. A little more energy, a little more hope and more smiles.
My husband and I are retired and only receive our social security. We are helping as much as we can, but our resources are limited. That is why I am reaching out, from the deepest part of my heart, to ask for help.
Your donation - no matter how much will help cover medical bills, rehabilitation costs and basic household expenses while Zack focuses on recovery. It will also give peace of mind to our family who have already endured so much.
Please keep Zachary, Susan and Paige in your prayers. God has carried us this far, and with your love, support, and generosity, we know Zack's story will continue - stronger and brighter than every before.
Thank you, truly for caring, for giving, and for believing in miracles. Because Zachary is truly a miracle!
