We are reaching out with open hearts to ask for your support in helping our child, Umar Khan, access a life-changing ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) summer program designed for children on the autism spectrum. Umar was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in July 2023. Since then, he has been unable to access specialized services due to a lack of funding. As he grows older, his daily life is increasingly impacted by significant challenges with speech, communication, and performing basic self-care tasks thus affecting his ability to function independently.

This summer, we have an incredible opportunity to enroll him in a specialized ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) therapy program at ErinoakKids — a program designed to help children like Umar build essential skills in communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and independence.

Why We Need Your Help?

ABA therapy is one of the most effective, research-backed approaches to helping children with autism thrive. Unfortunately, the associated costs are substantial, and Umar has been placed on a waitlist for funding through the Ontario Autism Program, which currently faces a backlog of approximately 4 to 6 years. As many parents of autistic children know, early intervention is everything. Research has shown that the earlier a child receives targeted, evidence based support like Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, the greater the impact on their development, independence and long-term quality of life.

We’re seeking assistance to help cover:

Tuition and fees for the 8-week ABA summer program at ErinoakKids in Mississauga.

The cost of this program amounts to CAD $14,580.

GoFundMe transaction fees (2.9% + 0.30 CAD per donation) - ($500 average)

Program Overview:

The Sessions will be 1:1 tailored to his individual needs, guided by the goals set for him with the clinical team. The sessions will include (but is not limited to): activities that target learning objectives such as communication skills, daily living skills, toileting, feeding, decreasing challenging behavior (e.g. aggression, transitioning skills etc.), school/learning readiness and more! -All of which are necessary for Umar, as recommended by the clinical team that evaluated him.

Every dollar raised will go directly toward giving Umar access to this program so he can have the personalized care and support he deserve. Even the smallest contribution makes a meaningful impact.
