Help donate to my dad’s medical and new car funds
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Samantha, and in the early morning hours of December 27th, 2023, my dad Luis crashed his car while driving home. Thankfully he survived in one piece and was the only person involved. However, he suffered fractures in his lower spine and one fracture in his ribs, among other cuts and bruises on his left side. His car was a total loss, as it took the entire impact for my dad. It was a scary few days in the hospital, but we are forever blessed that he came out of it whole and alive.
My dad works at a country club, and I remember one of the first things my dad thought about while in the emergency room, hours after his accident while he was in immense pain, was his work- his employees and his members who he helps. He will be out of work for 8-10 weeks as he recovers, as he is resting almost all 24 hours of the day. He still does his work here and there from home as he’s a crucial part of his department, but I see it is a mental struggle for him to not be actively involved. He has been part of the country club for 25 years, always showing up to work with a positive attitude. As he recovers, he still manages to keep that positivity and makes us laugh, even when he’s hurting.
My dad has a HUGE heart, and I truly believe he was born to help others. I wanted to create this GoFundMe to give back to my dad for all his work he does. The $5000 would go towards covering remaining medical bills and buying a car for him, as it would be extremely helpful to have a reliable car for him to use to get to work when he is fully healed. If the goal is surpassed, the extra donations will go towards physical therapy after his bones heal, as well as further help for purchasing a car.
Any donation is greatly appreciated for my dad and our family. A little goes a long way!
Edit 1:
I updated the goal from $5000 to $5200, to account for fees that GoFundMe will take from each donation.
