Hi everyone, my name is River and I am from a small town called Guelph in Ontario, Canada.

I recently rescued a little budgie who has clearly never been given the care she deserves. When I finally got her, it was obvious she had been neglected for quite some time — her beak is severely overgrown, she may be suffering from mites, and she’s showing early signs of bumblefoot, a painful condition that can worsen quickly without proper treatment.

I took her in as soon as I could because I couldn’t stand to see her continue to suffer. She’s already showing signs of trust and curiosity, but she desperately needs immediate and ongoing veterinary care — including beak trimming, mite treatment, X-rays or cultures if necessary, and regular checkups to make sure she heals properly and stays healthy.

Unfortunately, as anyone who’s cared for a bird knows, avian vet care is expensive and adds up quickly. Between the cost of her initial assessment, treatments, medications, and follow-up visits, I’m hoping to raise funds to make sure she gets the best possible life and a real chance to thrive.

Any amount helps — whether it’s $5 or just sharing this campaign. Everything raised will go directly toward her vet bills, proper nutrition, and enrichment to help her recover physically and emotionally.

She deserves to live a happy, healthy life after everything she’s been through — and with a little help, I can make that happen.
