Love in lockdown to life limiting prognosis
Donation protected
In 2020, a simple message sparked something extraordinary. Rimmy had just returned to the UK after years of working as a medical researcher in the EU. Feeling a little alone, she reached out to Kenny—someone she remembered fondly from her youth, as her siblings' karate teacher. They met for coffee, just to reconnect... but something clicked. Soon after, they were inseparable, and in 2023, they married—madly in love and full of plans for the future.
But life took a heartbreaking turn. In December, Rimmy was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer. She’s faced it with incredible strength— On their first wedding anniversary Ruimmy underwent surgery and several rounds of chemotherapy lasting until December. So far, none of the treatments have had the success they hoped for. Other trial treatments have similarly been unsuccessful and this April, doctors told them the prognosis: just a few months left.
Yet, there is still hope. A new drug, specifically designed for Rimmy’s type of cancer, has shown real promise. Though it’s not available on the NHS in Scotland, a clinic in London offers access—privately. The costs are steep, but the potential is life-changing.
Kenny is doing everything possible to get Rimmy this treatment, but they can't do it alone.
If you’re family, a friend, or someone who knows the kindness and love these two share, we’re asking from the heart: please consider contributing. Every donation brings Rimmy closer to a chance for more time, more memories, and more life.
And even if you can’t give, please share their story. Your support means the world.
With love and gratitude,
Kenny & Rimmy
