GIVE REPTILES & AMPHIBIANS A SHEDDING CHANCE

Amanda is an animal rescuer. She is the social media influencer behind @Theherpinglady .

Amanda first started her journey by field herping, or looking for reptiles and amphibians in their natural habitat, and collecting the data as a community scientist. Amanda has volunteered with Maritime Aquarium , FrogWatch USA , and the West Hartford Childrens’ Museum in hopes to aid in reptile and amphibian conservation local to New England.

However, preserving their natural habitats and collecting their numbers weren’t the only thing they needed help with…Amanda transitioned to fostering sick and needful domesticated reptiles and amphibians; sharing her experience on her Instagram platform: Theherpinglady .

Theherpinglady went viral due to one of Amanda’s pet frogs named Dumpling . Soon, she became well known for her animals and her rescues. As Theherpinglady grew, the need for a rescue facility strictly for exotic animals in need did too.

Amanda gets messages regarding sick, neglected, and abused reptiles and amphibians on a daily basis. She is unable to take in these animals due to limited space, vet bills, and cost of basic needs for the animals.

How You Can Help:

You can stop the abuse, neglect, and release of reptiles by supporting A Shedding Chance Reptile Rescue’s goal of $25,000. Not only will you be the pillars that make this rescuing dream a reality, you will also be the hero for abandoned, mistreated, and needful pet reptiles. If you support our goal, we will use the funds for establishing ourselves as an official 501c3 non-profit reptile rescue, develop, launch, and maintain a new website, rescue our goal of 10 additional animals, and cover administrative costs.

The $25,000 will cover the costs in order to become a non-profit 501c3 ($1,200), the total for rescuing 10 more animals in 2024 ($1,100 per rescue), and a website to act as an educational platform, adoption center, store front, event scheduler, and donation center ($820 per month).

As we grow, we aim to open a physical rescue facility where we can house rescues, provide adoption services, host private & educational events, and provide name-brand products for your reptile and amphibian pet needs.
You can put an end to reptile & amphibian cruelty, negligence, and release by partnering with A Shedding Chance Reptile Rescue today. Every effort counts and together, we can give reptiles & amphibians A Shedding Chance!

Donate Today:

Start this new year assisting reptiles in need. Partner with us in this journey of hope by making a donation. These animals are commonly overlooked as pets which frequently prevents them from getting the help they need. Your generosity will serve as a lifeline for these animals and facilitate the creation of an educational safe haven for all to learn, appreciate, and share the beauty in reptiles and amphibians for years to come.

Spread the word:

If you are unable to contribute financially, no need to fear! YOU CAN STILL HELP! Share A Shedding Chance Reptile Rescue’s mission. Be the loud speaker the animals desperately need to have their safe place. Your reach and connections may be just what they need in order to have A Shedding Chance. Thank you!

CURRENT RESCUES:

Angel was surrendered to me from a woman who was surprised by a leopard gecko on her door step in critical condition. I drove 5 hours and 20 minutes to pick up Angel and give her the vet care she needed when we came back. She still has a long recovery to go and is here to stay with us.

I volunteered to help House of Pancakes Foster Aurora. Aurora lived with a boy and his parents. After the parents split up, caring for Aurora became too much for them. The little boy loved Aurora, but needed help caring for her since he was so young. She is ready to find her forever home!
*UPDATE* Aurora found her forever home!!!!

Stinky was given to a mutual of mine in an undersized enclosure with nothing except a cork log and sand as substrate. Stinky was given to me for extra TLC, vet care, and then find a forever home! Her previous owner never introduced her by name so we named her Stinky because the enclosure smelled terrible when she was rescued... she also hates baths.

Finnigan was owned by a roommate of the previous owner. He was severely neglected, suffered an injury to his back, and was not provided with heat or UVB. The other roommate took it upon themselves to help Finnigan, but didn’t know how to quite take care of him and surrendered him to me to give him A Shedding Chance!

Jason was rescued along with Cheesecake and Ghost (pictured below). He was in a 10 gallon enclosure and fed 12 crickets monthly. Jason never had heat or UVB. He is a sweet gecko and eventually found his forever home where he is now named Gohan!

Ghost and Cheesecake came from the same gentleman as Jason. Ghost and Cheesecake were housed together in a 10 gallon enclosure with two hides in it. They also had no heat or UVB and only fed 12 crickets monthly between the two of them. Both geckos have some injuries from being kept in the same, small enclosure.
*UPDATE* Cheesecake found her forever home!!!!
