On April 28, 2026, Peyton Alvarez's life changed in an instant when a motorcycle accident left him with a traumatic brain injury, multiple broken bones and internal injuries.

He is 25 years old, a certified aviation mechanic at GSP for PSA Airlines. He is still in a minimally conscious state, fighting every day to open his eyes and move his muscles again. Peyton's doctors agree his best chance at recovery is a specialized rehabilitation program for Disorders of Consciousness. He was clinically accepted into a nationally ranked program in Atlanta, with a transfer date of July 15, 2026.

Despite his doctor's strong recommendation and multiple appeals, PSA Airlines self-funded insurance plan, managed by United Healthcare has denied coverage for the transfer even though Peyton has the benefit to cover it. Instead, insurance wants to send a 25-year-old, 12 weeks out from a brain injury to a nursing home. They would not have to pay for this. He would not get any therapies and he would lose function instead of gaining it back. This is about money, not medicine and his family won't accept it.

Every day matters. As Peyton's brain works to build new pathways, his doctors say specialized treatment now, not weeks or months from now, is critical to his recovery. Our goal is $50,000. These programs cost thousands of dollars a day. Internal and external insurance appeals are exhausted. The family is now consulting lawyers while pursuing every other option. Raising this amount will let Peyton transfer immediately to begin the care he urgently needs during this critical window. Any contribution helps give Peyton a chance at the fullest recovery possible.
