Help give Penny a voice

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Emma. I'm raising funds to buy an Allora machine, to help my mum, Penny, communicate.

Penny has Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). It's a rare neurological condition, a movement disorder which has robbed Penny of the ability to speak, to walk, and to do simple things like feed and wash herself . She began to lose her voice in 2018, and by 2023, she was barely able to speak. She was able to type what she wanted to say into a speech app on her phone, but more recently, this devastating illness has taken away her ability to do that.

An Allora machine can help. It's a bespoke keyboard and is specially designed for those with this kind of neurological condition. It is the only speech device that will allow Penny to successfully type out what she wants to say.

An Allora is £3000 to buy new, so they are not cheap. Penny won't be able to use it forever, but for now, it will give her a much-needed method of communication. Without it, she can only point at pictures, and won't be able to express what she is thinking or feeling.

Once it can no longer be used, it will be donated to someone else suffering from PSP.

Thank you so much for your support.
