Help give Panda a fighting chance

Panda is a 10 year old rescued papillon/chihuahua mix that I adopted 5 years ago. He came from a neglectful situation and has come a long way in my care. Everyone who knows us knows that he always comes first in my life. He brings me so much love and happiness and I don't know what I'd do without him. Panda is just out of the hospital after a 5 day stay and requires ongoing care at home to sustain his life.

About a year ago, Panda received a kidney disease diagnosis. Kidney disease is progressive and incurable. Since diagnosis, he's been doing well on prescription food and after having dental surgery in July, some of his kidney values have further improved. His blood work in January indicated some additional improvement and my family vet was very happy with these results.

However, recently we've had a set back. Panda was in my mom's good care for 10 days while I was on vacation. During this time, he started eating less and less. Upon my return, he was taken to the vet twice in one week as his condition deteriorated to the point where he would no longer eat and was very weak. My family vet and I believe that stress induced inappetance may have contributed to a quick deterioration of his kidneys. Since Saturday, he's been at the emergency vet, receiving IV fluids and a variety of tests. He has begun eating but his kidney values continue to deteriorate, indicating kidney failure. Panda will likely need additional rounds of IV fluids at his family vet, and/or subcutaneous fluid administered at home, in addition to medication to make him feel comfortable.

In the past week, I've spent about $5000 on his care, not counting the thousands I spent last year this year on testing, prescription food, and dental surgery. Suffice it to say my savings are drained and my credit card is maxed out. Any little bit will help me pay down my credit and allow me to further give this little dude the life he deserves.
