Help Give Our Dad a Second Chance with Life-Saving Surgery Hi everyone, I’m reaching out on behalf of my dad, who has recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Sadly, the cancer has already spread to the nerves and tissue surrounding the prostate, and doctors have warned that if he doesn’t have surgery by Christmas, it’s likely to spread to his bones and brain. Thankfully, we’ve been given a small but powerful window of hope. Dad has been offered a chance to undergo a procedure at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre called the NanoKnife – a highly specialised and far less invasive treatment than the traditional robotic arm surgery. This advanced technique uses electrical pulses to precisely target and destroy the cancer cells, reducing damage to surrounding tissue and giving him a better chance at recovery. Despite having private health insurance, this surgery isn’t covered. • The total cost for the procedure is $22,500 • On top of that, the anaesthetic fee is an additional $2,000+ • While Peter Mac is able to offer a payment plan, we still need to come up with a deposit of at least $19,000 before they can proceed.This is a significant out-of-pocket cost that our family simply cannot manage alone. We’ve been given a surgery date of September 22, and we’re doing everything we can to make it happen in time. Our family is more than willing to sell what we can to raise funds – but we’ve also decided to reach out and ask for help, hoping that others may be in a position to support us during this incredibly difficult time.
