Help give Nugget a fighting chance!

This is “Nugget”! I gave him a name because he deserves one! I was driving down Roseryville Rd heading to the farm to feed my horses and noticed a man standing on the side of the road next to Nuggets lifeless body. I assumed he belonged to the man and that he had been hit and killed. Upon leaving the farm I passed them again and as I looked in my rear view mirror I seen Nugget struggle to lift his head! Wow he was alive! I turned the car around and asked the man if he was ok? He told me he found him lying here lifeless and that he had called animal control over a hour ago. He was kind and wanted to do the right thing and I appreciated that. His wife was crying because she felt so bad for Nugget. I told him I would take it from here. He looked surprised because I didn’t hesitate. I asked him to put Nugget in my car please. The pound was not an option for me because they are actively euthanizing dogs by the dozens on a weekly basis due to lack of space. I know enough about animals to know that he didn’t have any broken bones, and I was willing to take the time to give him a chance and if all else failed, I would do the humane thing and have him put down humanely. But he showed signs of life! He drank water right away. I was sure not to give him too much. He wagged his tail. He didn’t want any food which I expected, but he did take a chicken nugget! He peed and after some water and rest walked to the bathroom so I could rinse the urine and feces off of him. Of course the ideal situation would be for him to go straight to a Vet but being very transparent, I can’t afford it so I’ve been making him as comfortable as I possibly can. He needs to see a Vet and that’s why I am reaching out to see if I can raise some money to take him to the vet and get Looked at so that I know where we stand. Please if you can help it would be greatly appreciated. Nugget deserves a fighting chance. Thank you
