I Amanda Bruno is making this fundraiser for my grandpa. He brought a mobile home in a mobile home community when my grandma passed away in 2019 so there was enough room for me and my kids to live and help him. I take care of him. He cannot live by himself. He’s a retired veteran from the Navy. He has the heart of gold, he’s funny, has the best personality you could imagine from an old man, he would give you the shirt on his back, his last dollar if he had it. He’s got a lot of health problems going on right now on top going back and forth to st Petersburg for test and treatments since that’s the only VA hospital for him. & his prostate cancer he had that will eventually come back… they are watching it closely, he can barely afford that…. this one thing is taking a toll on him….
The mobile home park he resides in is requiring a “carport”. There was a lanai also known as a porch, attached when he purchased the house. During hurricane ian 2022 he, the neighbors and I risked holding it down, wind got too strong, we went in and it flew over the home. The management in this community is now asking us to put one back up or it could lead to eviction. In the lease agreement it says it’s required. I’m helping him as much as I can as I’m on fixed income with 2 kids as well as he is on fix income as well. We are getting quotes this week to find the cheapest possible way to put one up. If anyone can help him get enough to have a company come do it or enough to get the supplies he’s willing to do it on his own which he shouldn’t but will to save his home, it would definitely give him some hope and worry less and more on his health
