Help Give My Daughter Piper a Voice in Court
My name is Kyndall and I’m a 33-year-old single mom doing everything I can to protect my 14-year-old daughter, Piper. We are in the middle of a devastating custody battle that has stretched on for nearly nine years. What began in 2016 has never truly ended—and now, it’s reached a terrifying turning point.
This week, my ex-husband filed an emergency order to take Piper away from me and he’s requesting that I pay all his legal fees which is $150,000. A judge has set a court date for Monday, June 16th, and I have no attorney to stand by my side. Even worse, Piper has no voice in this fight—and she desperately wants to be heard.
Over the years, my ex has weaponized the court system against me. He has filed false accusations, motion after motion, all in an effort to financially drain me and force me out of my daughter’s life. I’ve already emptied my 401(k), lost my long-time attorney because I couldn’t make payments, and borrowed every dollar I could from friends, family, and partners.
I worked at Starbucks until recently giving birth and am now a stay-at-home mom to both my children. We’re not living lavishly—we’re just surviving. And yet we are being dragged back to court again, this time with everything on the line.
Piper is terrified. In her own words, she’s scared to live with her father. In an act of desperation, she reached out to her doctors and teachers—asking them for help. They told her to request her own attorney. But the system doesn’t just give children lawyers. We have to fight for it. We have to pay for it.
That’s why I’m here, with all the courage I can muster, asking for help.
I’m trying to raise $15,000 to retain a lawyer who can represent me on Monday—and to formally request an attorney for Piper, so her voice is finally heard in court.
I know times are tough for many of us. But if you believe that no child should be silenced, if you believe that a mother should have the right to protect her child, please help us. Every dollar matters. Every share helps us reach someone who might be able to give.
Thank you for standing with us in this fight for Piper’s future.
With love and hope,
