Lyndon’s Legacy - Memorial Headstone

Donation protected
My name is Kay and Ryan, and we are bereaved parents to our beautiful 18-month-old son, Lyndon.

Lyndon was born on December 2, 2022, with severe hydrocephalus. From the moment he arrived, he faced immense challenges, but he also brought so much love and joy into our lives. Despite his complex medical needs - epilepsy, severe sight impairment, dystonia, unsafe swallow (PEG-fed), sleep apnea, oxygen dependency, and a developmental age of under 3 months - Lyndon was my heart, my world, my everything.

We were not only his mammy and daddy but also his full-time caregiver, nurse, and advocate. We never left his side for a moment. Every day, We made sure he was loved, comforted, and given the best life possible.

In March 2024, Lyndon was admitted into the RVI (Great North Children’s Hospital) for a VP shunt revision - his second major brain surgery. He overcame the procedure, and we were preparing to bring him home. But on the day of his discharge meeting, something happened under the care of hospital staff that led him to aspirate, causing aspiration pneumonia. This ultimately led to respiratory failure.

On June 12, 2024, our whole world shattered, Lyndon gave up his fight for life and fell asleep forever.

Lyndon was our life. The pain of losing him is something we carry every second of every day. But even in our grief, We are determined to honor him the way he deserves.

Why We Need Your Help…

We want to give Lyndon a beautiful memorial headstone - a forever resting place that reflects the love and light he brought into this world. Unfortunately, the cost of this, along with cemetery fees, is overwhelming. The total cost is around £8000, and despite applying for grants, We have been denied funding.

Lyndon is buried beside his Granda Brian, in the adult section of the cemetery, because the baby section was in an unacceptable condition. It broke our hearts to see it like that, and we refused to let our precious boy rest somewhere that didn’t reflect his worth.

As we continue to fight for justice regarding the failings in Lyndon’s care, We also carrying the heavy burden of ensuring he has a beautiful resting place. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help ease this weight and allow us to focus on keeping his memory alive.

How You Can Help…

If you can donate, We would be forever grateful. If you can’t, please consider sharing Lyndon’s story so we can reach more people who might be able to help.

Lyndon was, and always will be, our precious little treasure. We want to make sure his resting place reflects just how loved and special he is.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
