Help Give Meatloaf the Second Chance He Deserves
Donation protected
On the morning of July 9th, I encountered a dog so emaciated and lifeless, I thought he was already gone. Fortunately, I was able to rush him to the vet for emergency fluids. Eleven days later, after rounds of medications and care, I’m thrilled to share that this brave boy, now named Meatloaf, is on the path to recovery.
While I may never know the full story of how Meatloaf ended up in such a devastating condition, the evidence points to the heartbreaking reality that he was likely abandoned. Given the extreme state he was in and the heat of the day, it’s clear that without help, he wouldn't have survived much longer.
Meatloaf is around 4 or 5 years old and despite the hardships he's faced, he has shown an incredible will to survive and trust people again. His sweet, gentle nature has been such a reminder of resilience and love, even after suffering severe neglect.
Currently, Meatloaf is being treated for several conditions, including eye and ear infections, skin issues, and a bacterial infection in his gut. Thankfully, his organ function is strong, and he's heartworm negative. All of his health struggles are directly tied to neglect and malnutrition, but the good news is—they’re all treatable! Every day, he grows stronger, healthier, and more full of life. His tail wags more and his energy is increasing.
My goal is to keep him long enough to help him become healthy enough for his vaccinations, neutering, and eventual adoption. I’m fortunate to already have several wonderful families interested in giving him a forever home once he’s ready for that next chapter.
How You Can Help:
I’m raising $3,000 to cover his current and upcoming veterinary expenses, including medications, treatments, neutering and vaccinations, so that Meatloaf can move forward with his life and find the loving home he deserves.
