Help Give Luna-Belle Her Voice

Hi, my name is Tania, and I’m the proud mum of Luna-Belle.

Luna is 4 years old and has been diagnosed with Global Developmental Delay, Autism Level 3, and Hypotonia. Her start to life was tough—she spent her first 48 hours in NICU on oxygen, and from there, her developmental journey has been slower than most. She crawled at 18 months, walked just before turning 3, and while her speech is still very limited, she absolutely shines through music. Luna doesn’t just sing—she performs. She turns everyday activities into concerts, remixing nursery rhymes and turning anything she can find into an instrument. She is joyful, creative, and unforgettable. Everyone who meets her falls in love with her.

Luna struggles to express her needs and emotions using words. Most of our communication relies on hand gestures, guiding, or guesswork—which often leads to her feeling overwhelmed and frustrated. When communication breaks down, she may hurt herself by banging her head, biting her fingers, or hitting herself. These behaviours are not just symptoms—they are her way of trying to communicate in a world that doesn’t always understand her.

Recently, policy changes to the NDIS mean they no longer fund iPads for speech support. Luna’s speech therapist has recommended a package that includes an iPad, a durable case with a strap, and the Grid AAC app—an assistive communication tool that Luna already uses in her sessions. This technology would give Luna a voice outside of therapy: at home, at kindy, and as she transitions to school next year.

I'm reaching out for help to fund this bundle—to give Luna her voice. This isn’t just a device—it’s a lifeline. It will help her express her needs, reduce frustration, and support her through major milestones like school readiness and toilet training.
