Hi, my name is Jon Gibson, and I am a Contemporary Gospel Producer & Recording Artist with 11 albums in circulation since 1982. My last two projects "Soulful Hymns", and "The Storyteller" were publicly funded and released independently. I started as a guest artist on Bill Wolfer's "Wolf" album working with Michael Jackson on Solar Records. Many of the production people were from the "Thriller" camp and I had Stevie Wonder's attorney. Yeah, I was to be a big star. But I didn't want to make music just to sell records, and I didn't really care about being a star. So I ran from it all. I started making contemporary gospel music and soon had great success with 9 no.1 hits and over 20 top 10 songs. But when I got to the top of that heap, I realized that they weren't much different so I ran from them as well and I've been independent ever since. I don't make music for glory or fame, I make music because God has given me the gift to write songs that change people's lives even to the point of preventing some people from taking their own lives. Is that a noble cause? The music industry doesn't seem to think so and that is why I need your help. Making this type of album is an incredible undertaking because you need real songs with thoughtful lyrics. It takes all the strength of my body and mind so I can't work a normal job and accomplish it, it's impossible. But when it's done, it will have the same effect as many of my previous albums have had on all who hear it. Music that uplifts, encourages and heals. With some of the initial donations I've been able to obtain a great digital production setup and most of the work as far as the tracks go are done so I'll be heading to Visalia, CA to cut the lead vocals and instrumental overdubs, mix, and master.
