My great love of 14 years, Jarrod Rivers (44), was diagnosed with inoperable laryngeal cancer that was caught too late on September 28th. The very next day, he had an emergency tracheotomy because his airway was blocked 95% by a large tumor that had invaded his windpipe. Jarrod chose hospice and comfort care instead of chemo, radiation, and other surgeries because he didn't want us to go through more pain and suffering. After 2 weeks of hospice at home, Jarrod had to go back to St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, WI, and is now in hospice/comfort care.

Jarrod is approaching the end of this life and is expected to pass away very soon. Being disabled and living on SSID didn't afford him life insurance with preexisting health issues. We have no money for his funeral. Weeks of unexpected medical expenses have maxed out all the credit cards.

This public request for funding is to cover his funeral expenses. I'm required to have at least $3,000 within 48 hours of his passing to get him a proper funeral and be cremated.

Losing the man who showed me I am truly loved is the worst thing to happen to me. He is kind and gentle, always helped my mother, and showed her respect. He loved my adult kids and their children, "his babies." Jarrod said his life was one of service to the family, and he definitely lived that at home and at work. My son and he got very close, and this loss has cut us all very deep.

If you can help donate to his funeral expenses, please know how grateful I am. Jarrod deserves a proper funeral with dignity and love. To get struck down at 44 years old by aggressive cancer is devastating enough. Trying to plan for his funeral is soul-crushing.
