Help give Janay Meier a Gravestone

As time passes and life goes on, It is now coming up to mark 4 months since we have lost our beloved friend Janay Awut Geng -Meier, who was a beautiful soul, friend , sister, daughter and athletic prospect/student at Briar cliff university due to complications with a blood clot in her right lung. Although a successful go fund me and fundraiser were held leading to Janay being able to have been flown back to her native hometown of Edmonton for a peaceful and proper burial her family and all of us as a community still live with the conflicting pain and loss of her promising Life.
And to make matters worse her family struggles to cover the remaining cost to create and install a fitting gravestone for her grave after already pouring around $73,000 into her funeral and burial expenses, which is twice the amount of what was even raised from the original go fund me to bring Janay home. This family cannot bear this weight alone. That’s why it’s time for us as a community, friends and family of Janay need to come together to ensure A: her legacy is kept alive and remembered and B: that her final resting place is as vibrant, peaceful and beautiful as Janay and her life was. So that she may continue to look down proudly with that smile that will never leave our hearts.
