Help give Herbie the second chance he deserves

Herbie is a beautiful, now very loving, 19 year old Mule. He was taken in by Helen King at Saddle Brook Farm Animal Rescue after not being wanted by anyone. He spent his whole life on a farm being abused by his owner which is how he developed this massive bulge on his face. The cause was blunt force trauma which has now resulted in a polyp that constricts his breathing. X-rays have already been completed and CAT scans need to be done to confirm a successful surgery. Just that cost is $2500. The surgery will then be anywhere from $15,000 - $20,000. You were unable to get anywhere near him when he first came to the farm. After 6 months, he now wants all the love in the world. He’s learned to trust, and learned that people are good. Herbie can live another 15 years if WE can help him.
