Help Give Groucho A Dignified Goodbye

Hi friends.
..I really don't want to write this, but here I am. I’m reaching out for help with one of the most difficult things I've ever had to ask for.

My cat Groucho has been with me since he was born 17 years ago. We fought for 8 months through his illnesses, but now it's time to let him go in peace and love.

Groucho isn't just a cat. He's my boy, my protector, my familiar. He's the kind of cat who would welcome people at the door and sniff them up and down just to make sure that they were safe to enter. He always looked out for me and his brother, and was direct with his needs. He adapted with so much courage when we moved from Santa Rosa to LA.
He fought so hard against Chronic Kidney Disease, Chronic Pancreatitis, and Primary Intestinal Disease. Even as his body slowly failed him, he kept trying so hard.

I've made the choice to schedule his peaceful goodbye this Saturday. I want his last moments to be safe, familiar, and comfortable — knowing he was loved, and not filled with pain.

The estimated cost for Groucho’s euthanasia service and aftercare is around $1000. I’ve set the fundraiser goal at $3000 to also help with Groucho’s brother Sparty, any unexpected costs, and to give me a little space to grieve and recover without falling apart financially. Groucho has been part of my life for 17 years — and losing him is going to hit hard. I just want to be able to survive it without slipping under.

I am paying for his appointment upfront to make sure he doesn’t suffer waiting. This fundraiser will help reimburse those costs and ease the financial hit during a really painful time.

Groucho has given me so much love and security. His love means more to me than my 'tism brain knows how to put into words.
