Help Give Deborah Ann Southall a Beautiful Farewell
Beschermde donatie

My name is Batrice. Yesterday, my world shattered. My sister, Deborah Ann Southall, passed away unexpectedly. She was admitted to the hospital on 7/26/24 after the hospital called her and told her to return after her ER visit a few days prior. They realized her UTI needed IV antibiotics. Her condition began to spiral on the 30th. She was intubated and placed in ICU. On Wednesday, 8/7/24, they said she wouldn't make it 24 hours. And she didn't.
Debbie was like a second mother to me. She was 13 years older than me. She turned 58 on 7/3/24. When I grew up, she was like my baby. She was like a second mother to my children. She adored them. She adored EVERYONE!
Before becoming bedbound about 3 years ago, Deb LOVED to visit family, friends, & church members. She loved to call & check on people. Encourage people. & she usually came bearing gifts or home-cooked meals or treats! She loved the Lord! After she became bedridden, she could only call. Usually on video, so she could sing to you, see you smile, or just enjoy some company. She had 5 children. 4 are living. I believe there are 8 living grandchildren. She LOVED them!
She was art personified! She sang, painted, drew, wrote poems & stories, & made all sorts of crafts! She was working on a self portrait before being hospitalized. She also wrote the most beautiful letters. I'm certain that Edible Arrangements was originated by her!
My other sister, Connie, was just buried on 6/3/24 after a nearly 4 month hospital stay. She had no life insurance even though her husband had provided it for her for over 20 years. He lost his job less than a month before she was hospitalized. He couldn't get more insurance for her due to her preexisting conditions. She died just weeks before her 57th birthday. We are still trying to recover financially. Deb had no insurance due to it being so expensive by the time she thought of getting some.
If you can find it in your heart to donate, it will be deeply appreciated. My sister had so much negativity & pain going on in her home life. I just want to give her the memorial she deserves & that I know she would have wanted. Any amount will help. If you would like to donate but cannot, please ask around. Or simply share her story.
Thank you all in advance & God bless.
