Our family is grieving the heartbreaking loss of my cousin, Darieen Hewett. He was always a light in our family caring, full of jokes, hardworking, and incredibly thoughtful. Darieen put his family first and was the kind of person who would give you his last without hesitation.

At just 26 years old, his life was tragically cut short due to a senseless shooting, and in an instant our entire world was flipped upside down. We are still processing this painful and unexpected loss.

Darieen leaves behind a young daughter, his mother, and two brothers. This loss comes not far from the passing of our grandfather, making the grief even heavier for our family.

Because Darieen did not have life insurance, we are coming together to give him the farewell he deserves. All funds raised here will go directly to his mom to help cover funeral expenses and to honor his memory with dignity and love.

Grieving during the holiday season makes this loss even more difficult, but the love, prayers, and support from friends, family, and our community truly mean the world to us.
