Help Give Christine and Ty Osborn a Fresh Start

Christine Osborn is one of the most selfless people I have had the pleasure of knowing.  I am privileged to call her a friend.   She herself would never ask for anything from anyone!

So we, her friends, are doing it for her.

Christine Ostrowski (Chrissy) was raised in my small hometown of Duryea, Pennsylvania. There she met and fell in love with Christopher Osborn and his son CJ.  Their love was tangible and they were happy together.  Shortly after they were married Chrissy gave birth to their son Ty.  Ty who was born with severe autism, will be turning sixteen on January 5th.

They moved down to Tennessee for the promise of job opportunities and the lower cost of living from up north.  What they found was a rental fixer upper house and a school system for Ty to flourish in.  They made it their home for well over three years now.  A home filled with Chrissy’s love of animals.  Especially those in need.  She is the person that pulls over to help an injured animal on the side of the road.  There are cats and dog and even chickens that were all part of her circle of care.

Christopher was the primary bread winner in this modest family, and they made due living paycheck to paycheck with nothing extra for savings.  Christopher was a relentless hard worker at any job he could find in order to provide for his family, but did not have the luxury of life insurance and 401Ks.   Chrissy is a stay at home mom, whose sole job is the Primary Caregiver for their son Ty.

Life was an economic daily struggle for the Osbornes, but in true Chrissy fashion she was determined to make the best of any difficult situation with a “Can DO Attitude” and a fierce love of family that would frighten any who meant them harm.

Those closest to her knew of the struggles she and her little family were challenged with over the last few months.  One example were water pipes and water heater issues that plagued the Osborn household.   Unfortunately, despite repeated pleading to the landlord nothing was truly fixed and had left the family waterless for a full day on more that one occasion.

Christopher her husband was struggling to keep the house they rented running with little to no help.  After repeated requests to the landlord, it was the landlord’s determination to evict them, for their complaining, a week before Christmas.  Blessedly the law would not allow that to take place and official documents were not yet produced.  So, in the midst of our celebrations, the Osborn family was struggling with making the best Christmas they could while they desperately searched from a new home.

With deepest regret these and other personal issues came to a head. Last evening (December 29th 2019), while we were still floating down from the joys of our seasonal holiday festivities, tragedy struck the Osborn family.

Christopher chose to take his own life.  The details of which will NOT be shared here.  Just know that it was a horrific tragedy that Chrissy had to face alone while still protecting her beloved child.

Her troubles have now quadrupled.  She is in need of all the basics of life.  There is no home because of desperate need to leave the location after the tragedy, despite the eviction.  Chrissy’s clothing and possessions contained within their modest bedroom are also effectively gone due to the nature of the tragedy.  And as mentioned, their day by day economic living situation means there are no savings to fall back on during this time of crisis.

She is torn between the need to move home to Pennsylvania for comfort and support and the need to keep Ty in a school system that has been a blessing from heaven.  A school that has truly rallied around him and created a support structure where he is thriving.  So yet again, Chrissy is putting the needs of others first in her life.

As much as your gift is helping Chrissy during this time of morning, truly you’re gift is helping her son Ty.

As our hearts overflow with sorrow and tears weep from our eyes, from this senseless tragedy we ask those who know her to please give from their hearts to help Chrissy and Ty get back on their feet.  Any amount you feel you can give will be greatly appreciated.

Your funds will provide those basics we all take for granted food, water and shelter.  It will help Chrissy put clothing on her back and give her the opportunity to find a temporary place to live while she sorts through the crushing tragedy while keeping a smile on her face for Ty.

These funds will buy her time to process the grief and shock of the events that have left her world and mind in shambles.
