Hello, I am Pastor Morris Woods of Oceanside, California. I pastor the Friendly Church of God in Christ and have been doing so for the past 11 years.
I'm raising funds to support our Christian Orphanage in Gujranwala, Pakistan. This is the first Christian Orphanage in this city. It all started with a young minister's vision to help Christian orphans who were being used as slaves to work in houses and outdoor brick-making plants just to be able to eat. They were not being educated or cared for. He started gathering them together in brick areas and teaching them the Bible and basic education in reading and writing. This is just the beginning of the story.
So, he located a piece of property that would be a good place to build an orphanage where the children would have a place to live, eat, and sleep out of the elements. He and his family sold their heirlooms to make a down payment on the property, and we purchased the property over a one-year timeframe. The minister, his father, family, and friends who were skilled in carpentry, masonry, and finish work were poised and ready to build. We purchased building materials and paid as we could. The building was finished and furnished, and the children moved into their new home.
Summer was coming, and the heat was scorching, so we installed air conditioning and solar panels with battery backup to deal with the summer power outages. We also installed water storage barrels because during power outages, water could not be pumped. Soon, they were enrolled in a Christian school for their education, but then transportation was required. We purchased them a large-capacity van for their transportation.
We need ongoing support to keep them growing, but more imminent is this Christmas. We want to give the children a beautiful Christmas with new clothing, shoes and toys. The estimated Christmas fund is around $3,000.00. Please help us raise these funds. Every gift is appreciated, and it will help put a smile on the face of those who lost their parents but found love through those who cared. Blessings to you all.
