Give Carolanne back her smile.

Carolanne is my 16 year old granddaughter who was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer in her mouth. While other sophomores are thinking about school and dates and driving and summertime fun, Carolanne is thinking about getting strong and recuperating from an extensive surgery: a surgery that took out half of her jaw bone along with her teeth. Because of the invasive surgery, Carolanne needed a tracheostomy and a nasal gastric tube And this isn’t even half of Carolanne’s story.

Carolanne spent 10 days in the hospital after her surgery. As part of her jaw reconstruction, the fibula bone was taken from her leg to construct a new jaw. A skin graph was taken from her leg to help form new gums.

The effects of a cancer diagnosis is stressful for any adult to handle. Can you imagine being 16 and having to handle cancer pain? It’s heartbreaking. Though the medical innovation is amazing, it doesn’t make up for Carolanne’s pain and anxiety that developed because of cancer.

Meet Carolanne before cancer.

You already know she’s 16. She has beautiful eye lashes. She loves makeup and fashion, her friends and family and she especially loves Harry Styles. She’s an animal lover - Oh how doggies can bring her joy.

For years Carolanne competed in power tumbling and trampoline. Along with her school and family responsibilities, Carolanne has been working at a gymnastics school and teaches small children beginner’s tumbling. This job is on hold until Carolanne achieves a full recuperation.

This GoFundMe page is being set up to help pay for the multiple dental implants that Carolanne will need to bring her smile back. This is still six months down the line, but the expense will be overwhelming.
