Hello friends, family, and kind strangers,
We are reaching out with open hearts to share our journey and ask for your support. Both of us face medical conditions that make starting a family incredibly difficult.
• I live with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), a hormonal disorder that affects ovulation, causes painful symptoms, and makes fertility treatments more complex.
• My partner has been diagnosed with Sertoli Cell-Only Syndrome (SCOS), a rare condition where the cells needed to produce sperm are absent, leading to infertility.
Together, these diagnoses mean that building our family will require advanced medical interventions, including fertility treatments, possible donor options, and ongoing medical care.
The emotional toll is heavy, but the financial burden is even greater. Fertility treatments, consultations, and procedures can cost tens of thousands of dollars — expenses that are rarely covered by insurance.
A Glimmer of Hope: Stem Cell Therapy Recent research has explored stem cell therapy as a potential treatment for Sertoli Cell-Only Syndrome. In clinical studies, stem cells derived from bone marrow have been injected into the testes, with some patients showing hormonal improvements and even limited sperm production. While this therapy is still experimental and not widely available, it represents a possible breakthrough that could one day help couples like us.
We dream of being able to access such cutting-edge treatments, alongside traditional fertility options, to give us the best chance of becoming parents.
How You Can Help:
• Support fertility treatments: Your donation will go directly toward fertility treatments, medical consultations, and related expenses.
• Fund stem cell therapy research: Contributions will also help us explore emerging therapies like stem cell treatment.
• Spread awareness: Even if you cannot donate, sharing our story means the world to us.
Why This Matters: Infertility is often invisible, but it affects millions of couples. By supporting us, you are not only helping us build our family, but also raising awareness about PCOS and Sertoli Cell-Only Syndrome — conditions that deserve more understanding and compassion.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading, supporting, and standing with us.
With gratitude, Nick and Bobbi
