My sister, Adele Charles, has recently and unexpectedly fallen ill. She has been diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy and severe heart failure (HFrEF). Her condition is critical, and she urgently needs a life-saving coronary angiogram and stent placement.

We’ve explored options across the region—Trinidad, Barbados, and Martinique—and Martinique has offered the most affordable quotation for the procedure. Still, the cost is beyond our reach without help.

Adele is a resilient soul. Before Hurricane Maria devastated our island, she ran a small shop and lived independently. The storm destroyed both her business and her home, and she was never able to recover financially. Since then, she’s relied on the kindness of her church family and occasional sewing jobs to make ends meet.

Now, with her diagnosis, Adele is unable to work or care for herself. She suffers from constant shortness of breath and has been confined to bed rest. Watching her struggle each day is heartbreaking.
