Hi, my name is Jan, and I am fundraising for a very important cause that is too often overlooked in our society. Far too many abandoned cats and their kittens are left to fend for themselves on dangerous suburban streets, living rough and suffering shortened lives.

They deserve so much better. These little lives were not born to suffer cruelty or neglect. While compassionate veterinarians dedicate their work to helping animals, the reality is that surgical procedures and necessary medications come at a considerable cost.

Throughout my life, I have rescued several cats and dogs. Today, I share my home with one of each — both healthy and content. But this time, I cannot meet the costs alone. Six beautiful, friendly but abandoned cats have recently found their way to us (we are feeding them), and they urgently need veterinary care to ensure they can live safe, healthy lives.

Two of the young females are expecting kittens. Once their little ones are weaned, the mothers will need to be desexed, treated, and prepared for re-homing. The kittens, too, will need worming, flea treatment, and vaccinations before they can go to their forever homes. The male cats also need to be neutered (and treated) so they can live happily and healthily with new families.

This current abandoned family of six cats (and two unborn litters) cannot be given a chance at life without the generosity of caring people who want to collaborate with me in giving them a fresh, healthy start.

So far, I have connected with a beautiful local woman (who fosters for Soquilichi Rescue Ranch) who has already stepped in to help. She has taken in our first expectant mother cat, Whoopie (pictured), to ensure she is safe throughout her pregnancy and has a warm place for her kittens’ birth. Without her generous kindness, we would not even be at this stage of reaching out to the community for help with the upcoming veterinary care.

We hope to start with the male cats first, to stop the cycle of unplanned kittens being born into harsh conditions. There are four boys:

• Patrick and Leo– a pair of striking dark tabbies with the sweetest natures.

• Mickey 1 and Mickey 2 – twin black-and-white boys who look just like Mickey Mouse but are shy and cautious.

Your kindness will directly fund their desexing, vaccinations, worming, flea treatments, and overall preparation for adoption. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a real difference in the lives of these dear little cats.

Together, we can turn their story from one of abandonment into one of second chances, safety, and love.
