On the day of the recent Local 157 election Giuseppe Palmiotti, a 30 year member of The United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners was followed and attacked on the street by a candidate for the office of EST of the NYC District Council. This particular candidate is known for shouting down Members with statements about their wives and profanity laden rants having nothing to do with business at the NYC District Council. In Defending himself Giuseppe against the assault Giuseppe incurred charges based on allegations of the aggressor which he must now answer. Giuseppe is a shop steward for the Civil Service Carpenters of NYCHA and he fights every day to ensure a safe, productive work environment for all Carpenters under his purview.
