Help Girl Walk Again
Dear friends, family, and compassionate strangers,
Our hearts are heavy as we share the sudden and heartbreaking journey our very sweet and beyond incredible dog, Girl, has taken in the past few days. Once a vibrant, joyful, and active companion she has now been suspected to have Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) and is struggling to regain her mobility.
Just a few days ago, Girl was prancing around the house, playing with her feline brother, and leaping off her bed excitedly to go outside. But as the day went on, suddenly and unexpectedly everything changed. She began to show signs of discomfort, and just a few hours later, she was unable to stand or walk. Panic surged through us as we rushed her to the vet.
After a thorough examination and X-rays, we received the news that this could be a result of IVDD. This condition has left her practically paralyzed, and her only chance at a certain diagnosis is to get an MRI which an urgent surgery and intensive rehabilitation would follow.
Why We Need Your Help
The cost of the scan is significant—over $6,000—and that doesn’t include the sedation necessary, follow-up care, and surgery she would need to undergo as well as rehabilitation to regain her strength. As a devoted pet parent, I would do anything for Girl, but the financial burden is overwhelming. I’m reaching out to you, hoping you can help us give Girl a fighting chance to walk again and live the happy life she deserves.
Every contribution, no matter how small, will bring us closer to her surgery and recovery. If you can’t donate, sharing this campaign with your friends and family would mean the world to us. I know that together we can help Girl regain her mobility and happiness.
Girl is more than just a pet; she is family. She touches the hearts of every human that is in her presence. She loves to play with other pups and lounge in the sunshine. She truly breaks the stigma surrounding pitbulls as she is the most gentle and loving lady you could imagine. I know she’s just so confused about why she can’t run around and move freely just as she could a few days ago.
With your help, we can give her the chance she deserves. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering supporting Girl in her time of need. Your kindness and generosity will not go unnoticed, and we promise to keep you updated on her journey to recovery.
