Many welcomed 2021 with bubbly and cheer like any other New Year. Days later, our spirits were crushed when our mom Ginger was rushed to the hospital due to COVID-19. 23 million Americans have been diagnosed with this terrible disease but we believe our mom is one in 8 billion.
As you all know, Ginger has been a fighter and health warrior for years. In the Intensive Care Unit, she has been battling COVID, pneumonia and other complications affiliated with the disease. It does not take long for medical bills to add up; as a single mother, these medical expenses only intensify her financial burdens.
In addition to the influx of heartwarming thoughts, prayers, and energy from our loving family and friends, we are incredibly thankful for the talented staff at Central Vermont Medical Center. She is receiving world-class treatment and medicine to aid her healing. Ginger may be physically alone in this, but has an arsenal of loving people in her corner.
The time we are in is not easy. We know many lost jobs, loved ones, and hope because of this detrimental disease. Ginger has worked in the non-profit world for over 30 years and has had positive impacts all through our community. We are in this fight one day at a time, yet cannot anticipate the day of her return. When our mom comes home from the hospital, we need as much support as possible.
You can help Ginger on the road to recovery by donating today. Our mom has always been an optimist, a giver, and beacon of light in the lives she touches. Please consider giving anything you can; it could truly save her life.
