I am raising funds to take 2 separate weeks off to give care to 2 of my best friends. They are both having surgery, one in California, and one in Minnesota. One is a gender affirming surgery and the other is a bone marrow transplant. I am estimating with air/land transportation (~$350 round trip to and from Oakland (getting to MN is cheaper but Amtrak website isn't letting me check right now) & $75-150? each week for transport within the cities), food costs as my food stamps got cut off (~75-150? per week), and lost wages ($250 per week) and some wiggle room, I will need about $2k. If I receive more than that it will go to my friends recovering needs. I am also happy to give art for funds. I draw, paint, take photos, and sew!

As you may know, I spent about 3 years caregiving in Minneapolis. This came very naturally to me because I have been caregiving in some capacity for most of my life. However I burnt out really bad and have been recovering in Wisconsin for the past year. I am feeling the best I ever have in my life and I'm enthusiastic to provide care to 2 of my best friends, one who I will be meeting for the very first time after talking online for 3 years!!
