This is Ginger. She is my psychiatric service animal trained in deep pressure therapy and exit guidance amoungst other aids for my disabilities; but first and foremost she is my best friend, the star in my sky. My little rock.
If you are in the UCF or Orlando area, you may have seen us walking to class or having our lunch and play break in the many fields on campus.
I've always given her the freedom to socialize on her breaks because it helps her focus and thrive during her designated work-time, and she is always opting to be a little greeter and goofball when it's time.
Making her way to each and every person also enjoying some time in the sun in the grass, she brings joy to so many people every day, giving kisses and nuzzling her head on their legs, just sitting by them as they eat or talk and often helping brighten the day of so many often stressed students and staff.
She is just such a force of love and healing for so many people beyond the care she gives me, and I wanted to reach out to see if the community could aid us in her time of need.
Recently Ginger had to have an overnight stay at the V.E.G Hospital (to whom we are infinatley grateful for) for sudden and emergency gastrointestinal issues. And while her condition has stabilized and we are so grateful to have her back home, the unfortunate reality of our situation is that I am not able to safley afford the costs of her medical bills at this time.
I am hoping and praying for peace and answers and healing, and have faith that the love she has put into the world will come back around to her with time.
Thank you to everyone who has given us the space to thrive in the UCF community, and anything is truly appreciated.
