Help Ginger Find Healing After a Life-Altering Brain Injury
Ginger has spent her entire life working with horses. As a professional horse trainer, horses weren’t just her career — they were her passion, her identity, and the rhythm of her daily life. While doing the work she loved, Ginger sustained a serious concussion that forever changed her world.
Brain injuries are often invisible, but their impact is profound. Since her injury, Ginger has been unable to ride horses, work, or drive. Everyday activities that most people don’t think twice about — riding in a car, going to appointments, running errands, or maintaining a normal routine — can trigger intense symptoms such as pain, dizziness, sensory overload, fatigue, and cognitive exhaustion. Even short car rides as a passenger can be overwhelming.
Living with a traumatic brain injury affects far more than just physical health. The loss of independence takes a deep mental and emotional toll. Being unable to work, pursue a lifelong passion, or participate in daily activities creates isolation, frustration, and grief for the life she once knew. Tasks that were once simple now require careful planning, rest, and support, making each day unpredictable and exhausting.
The financial impact has been equally devastating. With Ginger unable to work, income has been drastically reduced while medical expenses continue to grow. Over the past year, she has seen numerous doctors and specialists, pursued therapies, and followed every recommended treatment in hopes of healing. Despite her determination and persistence, traditional medical approaches have not brought the recovery she needs.
After more than a year of trying everything available to her, Ginger is now seeking an alternative neurological healing program in Mexico that offers renewed hope. This specialized treatment has helped others with similar brain injuries regain function and quality of life, but it comes at a significant cost of approximately $10,000, not including travel and related expenses.
This fundraiser is meant to help ease the physical, emotional, and financial burden Ginger has been carrying and to give her the opportunity to pursue this treatment. Any contribution — whether through donating or sharing — helps bring her one step closer to healing, independence, and the possibility of returning to the life she loves.
Ginger has spent her life caring for horses with patience, strength, and heart. Now, she needs that same support from her community as she continues this difficult journey toward recovery.
