Help Ginger Gray Beat Breast Cancer

Hi there friends, family and those who I don't know but are willing to hear this story. My name is Greg Spangler. I am a firefighter here in Orange County CA and I am reaching out to the universe to ask for some help for the love of my life, Ginger Gray.

Ginger is a special education teacher in Orange County California and has been in the educational space for over 20 years. Ginger is the person who always raises her hand to help others; being a mentor to other teachers, coaching cheer and Step, Scouting troop leader, charitable fund raising maniac and overall, is a good human. She was the former special ed teacher of the year at her former school district in Virginia, and has always been a student favorite.

Ginger raised 3 amazing kids; Blane, Megan and Olivia. Blane is now attending grad school for architecture, Megan in the full time workforce as a technical writer, and Olivia halfway through her college experience at JMU.

Ginger was just diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer on October 28th. It appears we caught it at an early stage but there remains a lot of unknowns with her prognosis due to the cancers location and family history.

Why am I asking for help? Firstly, Ginger struggles with asking for help, especially financial help. She has been a fighter her whole life and manages to figure things out no matter the odds. I am looking to flip the script on her and show her that this is one battle she doesn’t need to fight alone. Ginger moved to the Orange County area during these Covid times and does not have any established support networks here, as she lived in Virginia up until last year. Ginger is also new to her school, meaning she has minimal sick and vacation time accrued to be able to take the necessary time off without the fear of lost pay. Deductibles & co-pays, as well as non-covered natural treatments are expected to be significant expenses coming up in the very near future.

My goal with this GoFundMe is to help reduce the stress of financial concerns so that she can instead use that energy in a positive and productive manner, to not worry about the what if’s of missing work, lost wages, medical bills and treatments.

Your help will provide Ginger with so much more than funds; you will give her the peace that she will need and greatly deserves, even though she would never ask for help directly. I am asking we keep this fundraiser a secret for a little while so that I can present her with this “gift” and record the reveal for you all to see and be a part of.
