Help Gina Overcome Cancer with Surgery and Radiation
Donation protected
Gina was first seen by an oral surgeon in July 2024 for a sore on her tongue that refused to heal. After several visits and trying different treatments, the doctor decided to do a biopsy. The biopsy report showed it was precancerous. She was then referred to an ENT specialist in Pittsburg, KS. After consultation with the doctor, the decision was made to remove the growth. She had surgery on the 22nd of Nov. 2024. After removal and a biopsy of the tissue, it was determined to be cancer T2. After follow-up visits, the doctor ordered a PET scan on the 26th of Dec. 2024. The PET scan showed more activity on the backside of her tongue and in the lymph node glands on the right side of her neck. She was referred to Kansas University Hospital in Kansas City. After consultation with doctors there, it was decided more surgery was needed to reopen her tongue to remove the spot there and surgery on her neck to remove those glands. This surgery will be on Feb. 10th. The doctor said this will probably require radiation treatments afterward: 6 weeks of radiation, 5 days a week. We are trying to raise funds to help pay existing doctor and hospital bills as well as upcoming visits.
