My name is Rebecca Abare, and I’m starting this fundraiser to help my best friend, Gina, and her family during an incredibly difficult time.

Gina recently lost her mother after spending the final weeks of her life by her side in another state. While she was away, her wife remained home caring for their family, including two young adults with special needs and another adult living with serious mental illness. Gina is the sole provider for her household, and her time away was taken under unpaid Family Medical Leave, creating a significant financial strain.

In addition to their emotional loss, Gina is now facing the overwhelming task of handling her parents’ home and belongings. Many of these items hold deep sentimental value and need to be moved from Delaware to Maine—a process that comes with rapidly increasing costs.

I’m asking for your support to help ease this burden. Donations will go toward covering Gina’s monthly bills and assisting with the cost of transporting her family’s belongings so they can begin to move forward.
