Update: I gave her $80, which $70 was from those who donated anomously, and she cried tears of joy. As her move out date before the house goes to auction is coming up very soon, this will goes towards a place to rent. I also has someone give her $100 giftcard to Publix for food. She has been missing her grandson a lot, and is upset he can no longer call it his home even though she hasn't seen or talk to him in so long. She stated, what of they come looking for me and I am not here. So, please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
Gina is a dear friend of mine who has faced more hardship than anyone should ever have to endure. I met her while working as a store manager at Dollar General, and from our very first conversations, I could sense her strength and kindness. Gina lost her husband to cancer, and not long after, her daughter passed away, leaving behind a newborn son. Gina lovingly raised her grandson until he was almost five, when, heartbreakingly, his father took him away. Since then, Gina has been left alone, struggling to make ends meet and searching for hope in the midst of so much loss.
Over the past two years, I’ve tried to help Gina however I can, but as a single mom myself, my resources are limited. Gina is now facing eviction from the home that was passed down to her and her brother. She was recently in a car accident that totaled her vehicle, and while her brother was able to get her another car, it needs significant repairs. She’s on disability, but as many know, it barely covers the basics—especially with the rising cost of food and utilities. Despite help from friends and neighbors to keep her electricity and water on, Gina is still struggling to get by. To make matters even harder, she recently learned that her grandson is now living far away in Oregon, and she’s been cut off from any contact with him. This has taken a heavy toll on her heart and spirit.
Gina has had three heart attacks and is doing her best to stay healthy, but the stress and loneliness are overwhelming. She’s applied for Section 8 housing, but the waitlist is long and uncertain. I try to include her in my family’s life as much as possible, but she needs more support than I can give alone. That’s why I’m reaching out to our community for help. The funds raised will go directly toward helping Gina secure a trailer to live in, buy food, and repair her car so she can regain some stability and independence. Please consider supporting Gina during this incredibly difficult time. Any help will make a real difference in her life and show her she’s not alone.
