Help Gina Camelli-Vacha Beat Cancer

Gina is a much loved person and teacher! She has worked in the Howland school district for over 20 years and has dedicated her career to helping both the students in her classes as well as the children of the community. She founded the Paw Pantry at Howland HIgh School, which supplies students with essentials, such as clothes, food, and hygiene products, all free of charge. She is kind, loving, and selfless.
It is now our time to help her. Gina's recent diagnosis may cause her to travel for treatments, which means airfares, hotel costs, food, and gas. This fund is meant to help defray the cost of these travel expenses, not to mention the cost of the treatments themselves.
Please follow Gina's example of being selfless and generous as you donate to help her overcome this obstacle.
Here is her story....
Hi all, I am Gina Camelli-Vacha, and as of January 28th, I have been diagnosed with stage 4 cholangiocarcinoma. This is basically cancer of the liver bile ducts. Pre-testing all pointed to gall bladder disease, and this is the surgery I was scheduled for on January 28th, 2022. In order to get to the gall bladder, the liver has to be lifted out of the way. When the surgeon went in to remove the gall bladder, he saw a liver full of cancer. Since then, I have been through a battery of tests to try to discover where the cancer originated from. To say life throws you curveballs would be an understatement. What makes my cancer stage 4 is that my PET scan revealed I have metastasis. The cancer has spread to a small part on the left side of my chest (lymph node) and a spot on my left femur (bone). In addition, out of nowhere, a lump developed on my right temple and had grown. As of yesterday, March 2nd, the needle biopsy of the tissue on my temple shows a malignant tumor that is penetrating behind the orbit of my eye and is aggressive - close to permeating my brain. Needless to say, my life has been turned upside down in a matter of weeks. I am unable to work and have taken a leave of absence from teaching - the career that I absolutely love. Despite all of this, God has showered me with countless blessings in the way of encouragement, love, family and friendships. I have been focusing on mental health via meditation and positive affirmations. My care consists of my amazing brother and sister-in-law, who are treating me holistically and, of course, the top-notch Cleveland Clinic - for now. My wonderful daughter, Alexis Terlecky and my friend, Lisa Morello, constantly give me spiritual guidance. My husband, Michael Vacha, has been truly my rock. I believe in the power of God's healing and that he is my Divine Physician (Ellie Mzehem). I believe the body is capable of healing itself. I wanted to thank two very strong and selfless women for putting together this Go-Fund-Me page: Laura McCleery and Lisa Morello; I am forever grateful for both of you.
