Update: we hit the £800 goal already! I've had some more details about the wheelchair Mum needs and I've adjusted the total again to accommodate this. My folks are also looking into having the bath converted to a walk-in shower so any extra funds will help go towards that!

Over the past 7 months, my Mum, Gill, has had a rough old time of it in hospital battling a leg infection brought on, in part, by brittle arteries. She's had three bypass surgeries around her legs to try and bring circulation back but unfortunately the infection was too severe and she was deathly ill so her left leg was amputated this week. She's 65 years young.

It's been particularly hard as I've not been able to travel down and see her due to lockdown restrictions which is why I've decided to set up this funding page.

Mum has severe rheumatoid arthritis. Due to this, mobility has always been a top priority for Mum and this new challenge is going to be particularly difficult. The arthritis means it will be incredibly unlikely she'll be able to walk with a prosthetic leg.

Dad has been talking about getting an electric wheelchair for her and I'd like to surprise them with the funds to get one. Any extra funds raised will be put towards a deposit for a wheelchair adapted car.
