On August 31st, 2026 Gilberto Jacobo Mata was taken into ICE custody on his way to work. Gilberto has resided in the United States for 14 years, where his main goal in life has always been to provide and care for his family.

Gilberto is a hardworking man who rarely turned a job down; always reminding himself of his children’s future as a source of motivation to keep going. On top of his work ethic, Gilberto ensured to treat others with utmost respect and kindness; always lending a helping hand to those in need.

Now our family is doing the best we can to help bring him back home. We are raising funds to help Gilberto cover legal consultations, immigration attorney fees, phone call, and other related expenses. Above all, we are raising funds to help support his four children between the ages 14 years old - 1 1/2 years old. As the sole income provider for his family, it has become difficult for his family to have their needs met since Gilberto’s abrupt and unjust arrest.

Sobre todo, buscamos recaudar fondos para apoyar a sus cuatro hijos, cuyas edades oscilan entre el año y medio y los 14 años. Al ser el único proveedor de la familia, a sus seres queridos les ha resultado difícil cubrir sus necesidades desde la repentina e injusta detención de Gilberto.
