Hello,

On Friday, August 31st, my father, Gilbert Velez, suffered a massive heart attack, followed by another on Saturday morning. He is currently in the ICU—stable, but not fully out of the woods yet. His options are limited, but he hasn’t lost his hope or his good spirit. In fact, all his nurses know him as “the guy who tells jokes.”

I’m reaching out to ask for help in supporting my family during this difficult time. My mother, Isabel Velez, has been by his side, but she is limited in how much time she can take off from work. On top of that, she struggles with her own health challenges (Fibromyalgia), which stress often makes worse. I’ll be at the hospital too, stepping in to support my dad whenever my mom has to return to work or needs a break.

The funds raised would go toward out-of-pocket medical expenses and allow Isabel to take more time off work so she can continue being there for Gilbert.
