On December 21, 2025, I was out with the Rolling Bandits bike club for a Sunday morning group ride. We were just seven miles into a planned 43-mile ride when I hit a patch of cement in the road. In an instant, I lost control and crashed hard, landing on my collarbone and left thigh. The impact broke my collarbone into five pieces and left me in excruciating pain. I was rushed to the ER, and after several tests, it was clear I needed surgery to repair the damage. On New Year’s Eve, I underwent surgery to put everything back together.
Now, as I begin physical therapy, I’m facing a mountain of medical bills: the ambulance ride, ER visit, surgery and surgeon’s fees, physical therapy sessions, prescriptions, an urgent care visit while adjusting to medications, IV drip therapy, and more. I’m also preparing for future costs as I work to regain my strength and mobility. This was supposed to be the year I returned to marathons and triathlons, but now I need to focus on recovery and rehabilitation before I can get back to doing what I love.
Seeing all these costs add up has been overwhelming, and I’m reaching out for help. Any support you can offer will make a real difference in my recovery and help me get back on my feet—literally and figuratively. Thank you so much for considering a donation and for being part of my journey back to health.
