Gigi is my sweet 3-year-old corgi who suddenly lost the ability to walk due to IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease). Just days earlier, she was playing, running, and acting completely normal. Everything changed so fast. After emergency evaluations and worsening symptoms, Gigi underwent emergency spinal surgery to relieve pressure on her spinal cord. She is now recovering at home and requires around-the-clock care, medications, bladder support, strict crate rest, and upcoming physical therapy and rehabilitation.

Recovery from IVDD can take weeks to months, and I am staying hopeful because Gigi still has deep pain sensation, which gives her a better chance of walking again. Right now, I am focusing on keeping her comfortable, clean, supported, and helping her heal one day at a time. So far, I have already spent thousands on emergency care and surgery, plus additional costs for medications, recovery supplies, bedding, pee pads, slings, and other home care items. I am also expecting ongoing expenses for follow-up visits, rehabilitation therapy, and mobility support during recovery.

The expenses have quickly added up between emergency visits, MRI and spinal surgery, hospitalization, medications, follow-up appointments, physical therapy, recovery supplies, and mobility support.
