Help Gigi Walk Again – Emergency Surgery Needed

Hi, my name is Jaydi, and I’m heartbroken to be writing this.

My sweet girl Gigi has gone through more in the past year than most dogs do in a lifetime. Just last year, she suffered a traumatic injury, breaking her femur and elbow in her left leg while playing. After months of grueling recovery, surgery, and careful rehabilitation, Gigi defied the odds and made a full recovery, regaining her mobility and her spark.

But today, Thursday, April 17th, tragedy struck again.

While playing in Hyde Park, Gigi fell and broke her right femur and elbow, the exact same injuries, just on the other side. I’m devastated. And the timing couldn’t be worse. Having recently relocated from Canada to London, I haven’t yet secured pet insurance, and the unexpected financial burden is overwhelming. The vets have advised that saving her leg through surgery is the best option, as amputation would put extreme stress on her already compromised left leg, which has metal implants.

Gigi is scheduled for emergency surgery on Friday, April 18th, involving two plates for her femur and potentially a pin in her elbow. The estimated cost is £8,000.

If you know me and Gigi, you know more than just a pet, she’s my baby, my best friend, my sidekick, my family and part of the reason we moved to London was to give her a better life. She’s a happy, resilient, active girl who still has so much life and love to give. It breaks my heart to ask for help, but I truly have no other option right now.
