Gigi is my almost 3-year-old long-haired diluted tortoiseshell cat. I rescued her at just 7 months old at the end of summer in 2023, and she’s been a special part of my life ever since. Gigi is semi-feral—she’s sweet and loving in her own way, but she can’t be picked up or handled easily, even for basic care. Since breaking my hand a year ago, it’s become even harder for me to help her, as I can no longer safely scruff or manage her for grooming or medication.

Last week, I took Gigi to the groomer, hoping to get her the care she needed. Unfortunately, she became so stressed that she defecated on herself, and cleaning her up was a real challenge. I’ve called 16 veterinarians in search of someone who could help, and finally found one in Rossford who can provide sedated grooming. However, the appointment and care are expensive, and with the rising cost of living, losing my food assistance, and my health insurance, it’s been especially hard to cover these costs on my own.

The funds raised will go directly toward Gigi’s sedated grooming, so she can get the care she needs without trauma or risk to her health. It would mean the world to me to be able to do this for her.
