Help Gigi fight Leukemia! (AML)

Hi, my name is Sara and i’m organizing this fundraiser for my best friend Gillian Millunzi.

Gigi just turned 26 years old, and if you know her, you know that she is one of the most loving, bubbly and friendly people you’ll ever meet. She has been sick for a few weeks, and on Wednesday, September 6th, was diagnosed in the Emergency Room with Leukemia. The following morning, she was moved to North Memorial Hospital to have a bone marrow test where they have diagnosed her with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). This is critical, and they are starting chemotherapy just 3 days later, September 9th. She will have an intense week of chemo, and will be in the hospital for at least 4 weeks if the chemo works. Otherwise, they will explore other treatment options, which will extend her time in hospital care. The funds we are raising are for medical bills, comfort items needed in the hospital, and help for Gigi and her partner (Kevin) and their personal bills while Gigi is unable to work, and so that Kevin can be with her as much as possible. This is going to be a long process, but I want Gigi to know how loved she is and that she’s not going through this alone.
