Help Gigi Defeat Cancer

One day everything is great. You're healthy, you exercise every day, you're eating right and your life is on track. Then you wake up the next day and you don't feel right. You feel ill and it's not getting better. After a few trips to the doctor and several expensive tests later and you can only sit quietly while you contemplate what the doctor just told you. You have cancer. CANCER.
That's the reality my mother recently woke up to.
My mother did not have an easy start to the life she is so close to living. Her own mother died when my mom was still at an early age. She grew up in foster homes. She became a mother herself at an early age and struggled to raise two children. Not one to sit idle, my mother worked every day of my life to make a life for us. To this day I cannot think of "hard work" or "strong work ethic" without thinking first of my mother. She raised me to be a hard worker, an honest person, and a person who gives back. She installed in me the values and ethics required to succeed in all that I have done; from my years spent in the United States Marine Corps to my life in the civilian sector.
In the past few weeks my mother has had several visits to the doctor, the emergency room, and to various specialists; already amassing thousands of dollars in medical expenses, all of which fall on her and the family as she is uninsured.
Now back to the elephant in the room. Cancer. Specifically stage 4 ovarian cancer that has spread to her spleen and liver. As anybody that has faced this type of diagnosis can tell you, the outlook is not great. But my mother has never backed down from a fight and she has never lost. To fight this fight however, she needs your help. Along with the fight of a lifetime comes medical expenses. The treatment she desperately needs can end up costing upwards of 200,000 dollars and more. Those who know me know that I do not often ask for help, and certainly not from strangers. But there is no level of pride that outweighs my mother's health and continued life. So please, search your hearts, help me help my mother.

We have researched and found the average cost of treating stage 4 ovarian cancer is upwards of 200,000 dollars or more. So our starting goal for this Go Fund Me campaign is 200,000 dollars. All of the funds raised during the campaign will go towards covering the cost of doctor appointments, treatments, prescriptions, travel costs, and any other associated costs.
