GigaBite Robotics is a community-based FTC team from South Lake Tahoe, founded in 2021 and coached by Monique, Jobe, and a group of fantastic engineer mentors: David W., Margaux, Dillon, and David Wise. Our team is made up of 10 dedicated middle and high school students who are passionate about robotics, STEM, and giving back to our community. As a team, we live by the core values of FIRST—gracious professionalism, learning and growing together, and embracing challenges as opportunities. Through our journey, we’ve gained valuable skills in engineering, fabrication, coding, leadership, and teamwork that extend far beyond robotics.
This year, we are thrilled to share that we won 1st place Inspire and have earned the chance to advance to the International premier event in Canada! This is an incredible opportunity for our team to represent South Lake Tahoe on a global stage, connect with other teams, and continue building a sustainable STEM ecosystem in our rural community. However, as a community team, we don’t receive school funding or space, so we rely entirely on fundraising and the generosity of supporters like you. We’ve worked hard to raise funds through sponsor letters, social media, hosting scrimmages, and community events, but we still need help to cover the significant costs of getting our 10 members to Canada—including flights, hotels, registration fees, robot parts, and meals.
